History of Assaults

Since the start of the full-scale conflict in Ukraine, a number of Russian military officials have been targeted within Moscow.

This new event follows other high-profile incidents, such as:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was killed in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a explosive hidden on a scooter was triggered from afar.

While a Ukrainian source earlier connected Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are not publicly admitted as a matter of standard practice.

The war has increasingly seen covert operations moving into the streets of the Russian capital.

The examination into General Sarvarov's death remains underway.
